Very slow Charge time

Hi everyone! I just got my Z1 last week and I noticed that the charge time was way slow compared to the other smartphones that I had its take almost 8-10hrs to charge full from a dead flat battery... is this normal??? Ive seen a couple of complains about it on the net seems like a fault...

Is this through a wall charger or a computer, if the later, that's normal, it will take quite a bit

computer will try it on a wall now and see if its better, i still find it wierd though that when i computer charge my lumia800 it only takes 2-3 hours for it to fully charge thanks for the suggestion though will try now and report back asap

Charging though USB port of PC is dependent on Power Output, The Current output of Z1 Charger is 1.5A while USB port of PC gives only 0.5A current output. Thats the reason for slow charging.

Xperia Z1 battery charge time

I'm having problems with my phone is taking 8 hours to charge I have tried differant chargers and leads but it doesn't seem to make a differance has anyone come across this issue?

Is this through a wall charger or a computer? are you using the Sony's usb cable ?

I'm using the iPad 12W charger, it still takes 3 hours. Perhaps this is due to the large battery in Z1.

Can we use 2 amp charger for z1 instead of 1.5 amp provided by the company ?

I'm charging with the original charger and cable. i have tried various chargers and cables and its still taking around 8 hours to charge

It shouldn't take so long, perhaps its a software issue, but 8hrs wow, repair your phone with sus if that doesn't work then take it to a Sony repair center

Mine takes about 8 hours ( and not from dead.. From maybe 5%)... And it's from a wall socket. That's very annoyingly slow. This is my second z1, the first one had broken power button, both were sllllooooow

3 hours charge time from 0% till 100% with a battery charge meter to measure the fastest charge time. ( this is while phone is on )

2hrs and 15 mins while phone is switched off.

The above info is with the sony provided charger model :- EP-880.

I have the old quick charger model :- EP-850 havent tried with this one yet if i do will let you know how fast it goes.

Hope this is not connected, and I had a little laugh.
But above the original poster said he "just bought a 2 amp charger"... and then no further replies.
If it ships with a 1.5 amp charger, and you used a 2amp charger would you blow the internal circuits.
I just laughed a little when there was no further update from the OP.

As you have pointed out, this is a very bad idea. I would only ever advise that people use the official and original charger at all times for use with our handsets. The use of third party charger, particular one that increases the amps has the potential to seriously damage the device and can be quite dangerous.

I think its a fault... or battery not good? i have one i sent back, not keep power long and takes full day to charge, home,pc,or car, very slow, and goes flat fast. 😕
