Hello,

I bought Sony Xperia Z1 Compact from Amzaon couple weeks ago. When I first put my simcard in and started the phone for the first time, It worked really well. Few days later, I had to put my sim card back in to my old Samsung GS4 mini for some reason. I did what I needed to to, and put the SIM back into my Z1 Compact.

That's when the problem started. The status bar indicates that I am registered and the mobile data is connected. I can send and recieve calls and texts, and same for emails. However, whenever I get on chrome, It says that i am offline. I cannot use Play Store. GPS will not find any routes.

I have updated the firmware and factory reset the phone for few times. I also switched from 3G to LTE and back. Also tired APN settings. Still the same problem.

I really like this phone and I would like to start using it again. I am in BC, Canada, and on ROGERS LTE network. What should I do?

Thank you for reading my post.

You could try a software repair which is not the same as a factory reset

To perform a repair

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc

Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Thank you so much for your reply.

This worked. I had to add APN but I am on LTE and all is good. Thank you so much.

I have drawn my conclusion too early. For a while, it was working. I was excited and installing all the apps i needed.

All of a sudden, just now. The same problem happens again. I don''t know what happened, but now I'm offline.

Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Thanks.

Finally solved the problem. Apparently the phone I got from Amazon CANADA is meant to be used from ARAB EMIRATES. Because their mobile network frequency is different from Rogers frequency the phone won't work. No way around it. What the he'll were you thinking Amazon?

On the box, it lists all the Frequency band. Is Roger's Frequency band listed?

From what I can see. Rogers using 1700 and 2600.

Which is compatible with the phone.

The Z1 compact 4G LTE is compatible with (800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2600).

Roger does support 2600 but not in all markets, it seems that Rogers 4G LTE rely on 700, it will best if you contact Rogers directly

Band 7 (2600 MHz, FD-LTE)
Bands 4 and 10 (2100/1700 MHz, FD-LTE, AWS)
