Does anyone have any issue with the top speaker on a Sony xperia z3 phone? Mine looks like there is boubble on the left corner of the speaker! And I also think I have a little flapping noice when playing music through the phone speakers. Can anyone with one of those phone can confirm if you anything like that or not?

Should i take the phone to a local service center?

Thanks.

I got the same problem as yours, my speaker also got flapping noise with the top speaker. I went to Sony and changed a new one and still got the problem, so i think this is hardware problem to all Z3 phones. You can check this issue by playing Piano music/song, i think the broken sound come from some frequency

Think i got the same. Does this flapping noise sounds like there is something moving inside the top speaker? I can only hear this noise when I do calls. Its not a big issue but its annoying.

I was about to call Xperia Care but after your comments i am not sure if its worth to try.

I thought I have chosen the best of all in the market! But only be able to use that phone just about a week and left over without a phone now, due to which I think is a manufacturing defect! Surely this a pure bad luck for me. Nevertheless I still liked that phone in so many ways.

I guess, now I wait and see how it turns out when I get that phone back in two weeks time.

Took a wrong decision in buying Sony Z3.

Was very excited before buying it but at the same time feels bad for making a wrong decision.

Firstly the back panel heats up like **bleep** if you play a game or keep it for charging.

The major issue is that there is a static noise which comes when you are on call. whenever you out the caller on speaker there is static noise which comes.

I am going to send over the piece for check whats the issue. Sony should seriuosly look into this as we all pay a heafty sum to buy a product like this and are disappointed at the end result. Sony needs to wake up and check their phones before launching them in the market. If the issue doesnt gets fixed I am going to put a ban on using any Sony products and will also suggest others not to buy it.

WAKE UP SONY.

Regards,

Frustated Sony Z3 user.

Hi guys!

I would like to share with you that I am experiencing the same issue with the top speaker of my Xperia Z3. This crackling sound you can hear when you select some of the ringtones. I also hear it when I am making an outbound call. By the outbounding calls very often I even hear a low-frequency sound which sometimes is so strong and annoying so that it makes me taking away the phone from my ear. I already informed Sony about this issue. I've event teste a few other Z3 phone in the store where I've purchased mine - they all have the same issue. It turns out that this is a widespread issue and impacts all Z3 and Z3 Compact phones, but so far there is no official statement from Sony. I have returned my phone to the merchant and I've also written a letter of complaint and now I am waiting for a official statement from Sony and the local merchant how we will proceed - whether they will give me a new phone whithout any issues or I demand the merchant to give me back my money. SONY, come on come up with a official statement, don't be silent!!

It just like Sony now too busy at many works, they seem like dont care about their products anymore, not only happened to my Z3, but also to my PS VITA, they dont give us new games and all come to indie trash games which i easily can play on my phone. And the most terrible thing that they said that they dont really want to support PS VITA anymore, just let them going to abadoned... To Sony: all your products like Z4 Z5 Z6...

I have the same issue. The top speaker on the Z3 is low and making crackling noises. My wife purchased a Z3 compact and the sound is so much better. Also the quality of my screen is bad compared to the Z3 compact, and mine is meant to be 'Full HD!'

I've had it for about 3 months. It's been exposed to water once when I had to clean it. All flaps were closed properly, so I don't think its water damage that has caused the speaker issue. It just sounds like the rubbish speaker that Sony put in it has blown.

I thought I'd give Sony a try with the Z3, thinking that it was a great handset, but how wrong was I. Very dissapointed. Will never use a Sony phone ever again. Things just aren't going well for Sony right now. Get with it! You've lost one more customer.

Also, I have made communication with Xperia Care and they have told me that I will have to send back the device to them for up to ten days, which I can't because I rely on a mobile phone on a daily basis and on top of that I have to pay postage charges there and back even though its 'under warranty.'

Its all a bit of a joke and p*ss take from Sony. Cant wait to get rid of the pile of junk.

And also, you cant use the device for more than ten minutes. Your hand will start to burn when it overheats. You'd think after so many iterations of th Z series they could have sorted this.

Hope this helps in anyones decision to buy a Sony phone.

Hi,

This is my current equalizer settings. With this configuration the crackling of the top speaker disappeared. Also deactivated other effect options (ClearAudio+ and Surround).

Regards
