cannot download email attachments anymore

Hello Community

I have searched google for this issue and found that it's nothing new and around for several years across all android phones. Now it affects me, at one point during the last two weeks the download of email attachment stopped working.

I tried with both the standard email (error message could not download attachment) app and Nine (progress bar stops) it's not working anymore. I have deleted and re-installed Nine, deleted the email account and added it again, changed the email download size to all, countless restarts, unmount / mount SD card - nothing helped so far....

Do you have any ideas besides factory reset?

Do you experience the same if you use the Gmail app, you can use other non gmail accounts.

Just did give it a try, not possible to download pictures and for pdf it says wrong or corrupt format (no problems to open it with my laptop).

must be something else beside email apps... anway thanks for your help!

Does your phone has an antiv virus?

does it work on safe mode ?

There was avg installed, I deleted it prior to posting here.

Just tested safe mode, also not working there

Which email provider (Hotmail/Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) are you using?

strange thing, I tested my gmail adress with the gmail app, that works for attachments. So the culprit must be Outlook, they recently changed / modernized the design of the webmail.

It sounds like you are right about that.

Might be worth testing the Outlook app as well if you haven't already done so.

Not even the outlook app works, just downloaded and set it up.

Apparently also iPhones are affected:

it really looks like this has to be fixed by Microsoft.

If it's the same with the Outlook app as well then it looks that way yes.
