GPS FAILED since Marshmallow update

I absolutely love my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact - the best phone I have ever had. I have never had any problems with it. But since the Marshmallow update, my GPS just doesn't work. It picks up signal to identify my current location but after a few seconds it just says gps signal lost. I have tried Google Maps, Waze and Navigator and they all give me some similar error regarding gps signal. I then went on to settings and diagnostics and tested the GPS which errored as "Failed" confirming what I already knew. I have researched this a bit and noted that others had the same problem but without any solution. I am in a new city and this is causing me so much stress and anxiety. What are my options to fix this?

Settings > location > do you have it set to high accuracy ?

Do you have stamina mode on or any battery apps?

could you test it in >>> safe mode

settings > about phone > diagnostics > test > test GPS

Stamina mode is off and no other battery apps. I did the diagnostics test in safe mode and it still said failed.

Have you been able to fix it? My brand new Z3c has the exact same problem 😞
