HXD995 loses channels once a week

I have a Sony HDX995 DVD Recorder. Yes i know its old but so am I. Approx every 10 to 14 days the recorded looses all its channels and I have to set it up again. This has been going on for years???

I know its an old machine but it works fine apart from this problem. someone must have experienced this in the past can anyone help please??

It is definitely old, but that's where most of the good tech is nowadays anyway, so I support this 100% my friend!

That said, have you tried updating to the latest software (v1.24) or tuning in the channels without the aerial to reset the tuner?

Appears channel information wiped after auto updates. switched auto updates off and the channels were retained.

does this recorder still get updates? or is it merely updating the EPG??

The latest software is mainly for the unit itself and not for the EPG. Do you have the EPG set on guide plus? If yes, try to set it to the normal guide.
