XAV-AX3005DB - USB device not supported

Just installed a XAV-AX3005DB in my Vivaro van. All good except that I get a repeating message (plus four beeps!) saying 'USB device is unsupported' but, to the best of my knowledge, there are no USB devices connected to the unit. I have tried using the 'factory reset' option but the problem remains.

There is a similar post from 2020 which seems to suggest a solution but the link to the solution doesn't go anywhere.

Suggestions please.

Contacted Sony. They advised a) check firmware is 1.25 b) do a factory reset c) send it to Sony for assessment. Firmware is v1.25 and have done Factory Reset. Do I really have to remove the unit and send it to Sony?

Yes you need to send it for inspection, couldn't find any work around here.
