Sony TV automatically switching to a different source

We had a Sony KD55XE9005 and towards the end of last week if made us do an update.

Since then it has been switching to the HDMI 3/ARC channel randomly by itself. We have a sound bar plugged into this port so have to change it back to whatever we were watching on TV or the XBox etc.

We have tried turning off Bravia Sync but that hasn’t made any difference.

We have checked all connections on the back of the tv and the sound bar in case a loose connection was causing it.

We have even tried changing the batteries in all the remote controls in case one of them was causing it.

But not had any luck. Can anyone suggest what we can try next?

It could be worth doing a factory reset on your TV to see if this helps. You can follow these instructions to find out how to do this.

We have just tried a factory reset and unfortunately it is still doing it.

Hi gogfumble,

What's the make/model name of the soundbar connected to HDMI 3? would you be able to unplug it for some time and test if this will happen again? If it didn't, this means the soundbar is the one sending the signals to switch the input not the TV.
