Hi, We have just purchased a new Sony KDL40WE663 TV. We have connected a hdd to the correct USB socket. The tv recognised the hdd and registered it. When we came to record a programme/s it acknowledged the inputs on the timer, but failed to record them, however in the error list it showed the programme detail with an exclamation mark. When we tried to record again we got a message stating the hdd was not recognised, we deregistered it and registered it again but the same problem exists.

Can anyone assist in trying to resolve this?

Hi Madge,

Welcome to the Sony Community.

Please take a look here regarding HDDs that are compatible. However, Sony does not guarantee that they will operate.

Best wishes,
