KDL42W805 to DN1000 Cinema System HDMI

Hi. I'm probably ***** it as my cinema system has been packed away for a long while. But, any ideas how I achieve sound from the tv into the DN1000 via HDMI please? I did it with my old tv but have completely forgot how to. I do have an optical lead but I'm certain I used HDMI last time. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi there

You will need to use both HDMI and Optical cable. This is because the DN1000 does not have a HDMI-ARC (Audio Return Channel) port.

Arrrr, I see.

The HDMI must have only been for picture pass-through then. I.e. my PS3 and VAIO. Thanks for this, saved me a couple of hours of banging my head off the wall 😉
