Hello,
I have some issues when I am trying to Airplay content from my apple devices to my Sony Bravia TV.
The airplayed video seems to have spikes of FPS drops. It is generally lagging and occassionaly freezing for 1-2 seconds before the playback continues. AirPlay works but it's absolutely pointless to use it since I am getting really choppy video.
I have tried most of the common troubleshooting methods such as updating my iOS, updating the software of the TV, resetting the TV, resetting my network at home etc.. Noone of this helped.
The WiFi that I am using for the AirPlay is really fast 1gbit fiber connection (i am easily getting 900ish mbit download and 600-700 mbit upload)
The laptop that I use to stream is Macbook Pro 13inch 2016 with 8GB DDR3 ram.
Any thoughts and tips would be highly appreciated.
Thank you so much in advance
It woks over wifi and ethernet… but just very stuttery/frames dropping on the sony bravia airplay 2 function
Hey galoootje, try the usual. a power cycle, a FR, then contact Sony.
The main frustration for me is that Chromecast on my Sony Android TV is as smooth as butter but Airplay is like watching a pirated DVD. Really poor form from Sony when TVs from Aldi and Lidl can do Airplay/Apple TV without any lag. No software update has fixed this and I’ve had the tv (KD55 A8) for a year.
An 10 year old apple tv2 displays the videos i airplay to see t without lag.. the 3k sony tv that has official native airplay 2 support airplay videos from my new iphones camera roll without dropping a million frames
It’s just really poor and there’s no explanation for it. My wifi connection is superb and it also does it when connected to Ethernet. Literally the only weak link is the in-built Apple TV. I have a 2020 Apple TV box upstairs and that streams fine.
Hey guys, have you tried to connect to a personal hotspot? Or a factory reset?
