Power on behaviour

I've just bought Sony XR-55A80K and wondered if anyone has issues with the "power on behaviour" setting. I've set it to "last used input" which should mean that when the TV is switched on it will display TV channel (as this is last used input and TV was switched off from TV channel). Problem is that it always displays home page. I've set it multiple times to "last used input" but it always displays the home page. I've reported to Sony and gone through all the steps such as "reset to factory settings" but this is a brand new TV which I've only just taken delivery of and set up. If this is a known problem I'd expect Sony to just tell me that it doesn't really work but am reaching out to community for any real world examples of it working/not working.

I think that's not how it works! Last input means that the last external HDMI input you were using, for example ''Sky box, Xbox, PS5, Virgin box, Amazon Firestick''. If you're using an HDMI input that's where the TV will go, to that last input you were using. 
And if you get it to TV, then TV will switch on to the home page for the Sony TV. So none of the options will allow the TV to switch on and go directly to a TV channel.

Sony says, in one of their articles, "You can change the TV startup behaviour to Last input if you prefer your TV to power on with the last watched TV channel or external input instead."

This seems to contradict what you said in your reply and when I reported issue to Sony they didn't correct my understanding...well not yet anyway!

Then let's wait till you get the final resolution from them, maybe that would help make things clear, cheers!

Hi @OneEyedJack   A95K on v6.5954 the Power on behaviour does exactly what it says on the tin. If I am watching TV then it returns to TV when turning on again out of Standby. The same for all other Inputs (HDMI1-4) and Home Screen.

Sony have washed their hands of this issue; here's their response:

"This feature is controlled by Google. The current options are:
- Home screen
- Last input: HDMI source or TV broadcast input.
Please refer to Google support."

I will try Google!

Off to Google now....if anyone uses the power on behaviour I'd be interested to know if it works for them or not.
