I puchased this TV about 2 weeks ago. Having discovered that I can't use the record to HDD in YouView mode I disabled YouView. When I tried to return to YouView mode the TV had to go through the whole setup again including a full autotune.
Does Sony expect me to go through this process every time I want to record something - if so they can't be serious! Or, am I doing something wrong? Would like to hear from anyone who has used this feature without problems.

I think you already know by now that it's not at all possible to record content on an HDD connected to your TV while having YouView enabled. Unfortunately, there's no workaround for it as enabling YouView removes the recording section in the settings menu.

As you say I'm aware now, but I don't think much effort was made to explain to me that using this TV in YouView mode would disable the recording function. Incidentally, this is Sony's choice to not make this available, not YouView's. My old YouView box (from BT) allows me to record. Disappointed but lesson learned.
