Upgrading to a newer models

Does Sony have a system to encourage us to upgrade/exchange to a newer models?

Sony has no official exhange program that I'm aware of, although I presume retailers are free to offer something along those lines.

However, as with most techie things, retailers have noticed the incentive to upgrade to new features and better quality is more than enough for most customers
