We’re always looking to make it easier for people to record and playback their own original 4K footage, and the new FDR-AXP33 4K Camcorder achieves exactly that.

As 4K becomes more popular and is growing to be accepted as the next best broadcast format, the AXP33 puts all the power of 4K right in your hand. This new model is 30% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor, yet still provides the unparalleled clarity, contrast and colour of 4K. This model is the first to include Balanced Optical SteadyShot (BOSS), an advanced stabilisation technology that provides smooth, stable and blur-free footage, even if you’re filming handheld.

The camcorder shoots using the XAVC S recording format, which makes it astoundingly simple to store, edit and share glorious 4K Ultra HD footage, and with the ability to shoot at a bit-rate of up to 100mbps, you’ll be able to capture the subtlest of details, You really do need to see it to believe it.

With the AXP33, we’ve added some improvements that give it the look and feel of a truly premium product. There’s a manual ring and button that can be assigned to numerous functions including zoom, aperture, focus and so on, and there’s even an ISO-compatible MI shoe which allows you a variety of add-ons - perfect for expanding your creativity as a videographer.

It also comes with a high-performance electronic viewfinder that is three times as detailed as previous models, a supplied HDMI cable so you can quickly and easily watch your footage on your television, and the ability to ‘trim’ images from your footage, so that you can crop out the parts you don’t like and focus on the parts you’re happy with.

The FDR-AXP33, along with the rest of the Sony Handycam 4K range, is available to pre-order now and will be on sale across Europe in February.
