HDR not displaying on Sony Bravia 4K TV for PS4 PRO? Need URGENT HELP!

Forgive me... I will try to make this story as short as possible.

I have just set up my 4K TV, it is a Sony Bravia KD43X70 and has 4K ULTRA HDR support. I am using a HDMI 2.1 cable (8K supported) to connect the PS4 PRO to my TV and I was trying to enable the HDR through the PS4 settings by going to: SOUND AND SCREEN > VIDEO OUTPUT SETTINGS > RESOLUTION, however '2160p - RGB' was initially blacked out and wouldn't let me select it, so I had no choice but to choose the default 2160p - YUV420.

Anyways later on I found that in order for 2160p RGB to be enabled I had to go to my TV settings, go to HDMI Signal Format and then change the HDMI input format from 'Standard' to 'ENHANCED'. However it only allows me to do this for HDMI Inputs 2 and 3, not 1, which is really bizarre... So I pulled my HDMI out of input 1 and stuck it into input 2, then changed the setting to 'ENHANCED', went back onto the PS4 RESOLUTION settings and it seemed to do the job. I could now select '2160p - RGB', and then I changed the 'RGB Range' to FULL, set HDR to 'Automatic', as well as adjusting it under the 'Adjust HDR.

However the problem is that for me personally I notice LITERALLY NO DIFFERENCE once 'HDR' is supposedly turned on. I mean when I have been using a normal 1080p Sony Bravia TV for like a year and I would instantly know the difference between the RGB range set to 'LIMITED' and 'FULL'. Whenever the RGB was set to limited it would always display a really bright picture, almost clouded, and when it was set to FULL I would instantly notice the difference because the screen would be darkened and display the colors with more contrast. However when I enabled the HDR and set the RGB to FULL on this PS4 (once the 4K tv has been set up) I honestly notice nothing different. I actually think the HDR is not being displayed at all, even though I have set it on to 'Automatic' and adjusted the HDR settings.

Take a look at these screenshots I took, and by the way I did not take them from the PS system, I recorded them from a capturing device which records everything off the TV screen and includes the TV settings:

You will see that in the top one the RGB is set to FULL, and in the bottom one the RGB is set to LIMITED. However you may also see that the colour/brightness/contrast in both images is exactly the same, no difference what so ever. The text does seem to be slightly whiter in the LIMITED one. The one with RGB set to full is the one that should have the colors slightly darkened and displaying more contrast, but for some reason they both seem near identical to me.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid and overthinking this too much, or being fussy. Personally when I am playing a game I'm not even really worried, nor does it bother me to be honest. But in the back of my mind I want to know if really the HDR/TV settings can be utilized more so that a much more crisp image is produced, or is this all there is to it? Take a look at another image here, someone told me that the color format should say '(HDR)' next to RGB, however mine just says 'RGB' on its own.My Great Game - My Great Capture_2020-12-30_05-49-36.png

My ultimate question here, and what I really want to know is how am I supposed to know if the HDR really is being displayed? Is there a way I can find out through my TV settings or some other kind of notification that the HDR on my PS4 really is displaying? Am I just overthinking it way too much? And that this is supposed to be like this? Or is the HDR really not working and should be utilizing a lot more here? If so then what do I need to do?

At the end of the day I just want the HDR to be displayed for my PS4, that is all. I have provided all the relevant information and have applied all the appropriate settings, but I feel maybe there might be a fix to this, or worse case scenario is that its supposed to be like that.

Thanks a lot

You can press the Info button (i+) to check the current displayed signal, you can also adjust the settings for what's on screen if you press the Options button and access the picture/video settings to make sure everything is set up correctly.

That said, menus are very rarely an indicator, especially an animated one like PlayStation's. Try taking a screenshot from a backdrop of a game with HDR support with HDR turned On and another with it Off, keeping in mind that the capture device MUST support HDR to capture it, otherwise it will not show any difference.

Hope this helps.
