Ok i`ll be the first to admit I am slightly confused. TV Sony XH9505 and the Sony STR-DN1080 connected by EARC cable, there are some out there who maintain the best option to have the tv sound set at is Cinema, now whilst the Dolby Atmos shows up on the amp when viewing an Atmos film via Netflix, is it both the tv and the amp that are sampling the sound signal and decoding it, is it just the amp decoding the signal, just the tv decoding it or am I just confused? If I was inputing the sound via HDMI from a digital box or Sky then surely the TV is not managing the sound but the amp itself.
So it leaves me wondering what is the best sound option to have it on in the tv and amp settings?
A simple explanation would be good if anybody can take the time thanks.
