Hi @LuisBA45, let me see if I can help out here!

Due to the fact that Xperia L3 does not have a manual mode, there is no way to turn of the autofocus completely. However you are still able to tap the section that you want the camera to focus on and the focus of the camera will adjust accordingly.

I hope that answered your question. If you want to read more on how to use your camera, click here.

You can manually focus in photo mode but not video mode.  Sony you need to add this in as my video quality is rubbish, it's constantly trying to focus making my videos blury.

We have this problem too, it's not possible to reset the camera app to the default stock version to see if the problem persist. Right now the version is 1.1.40030; it's hard, if not impossible to shoot videos without autofocus getting in the way every few seconds.

EDIT: I tried from a secondary L3, configured the same way, and the problem does not occur with that device ... so only some devices are faulty? This is also the only topic in the Community that I've found about this problem with the Sony Xperia L3 so by the looks of it we're a minority of users affected.

Did you try to uninstall the apps updates?

From Settings > Apps and notifications > See all apps > Camera app > Tap the menu icon on top > "Uninstall updates"

Thank you so much for stopping by Jess, I was actually not aware that you could uninstall updates this way. I have checked though, and there seems to have been no updates for the stock camera app (the 3 dot menu does not appear for this app, but it appears on others like album etc.).

Since it's a stock app, it can't be disabled either (button is greyed out), sometimes this would reset it to factory defaults. Anyways during testing I noticed that the issue was there when shooting videos through WhatsApp too, so it may be a hardware fault too for what we know (I have a second L3, and it's not faulty).

I am having the same problem on my L3 (model l4312) . Tried to install third party camera apps to solve the problem with mixed results. Currently getting ok results using old google camera app Version 2.2.024 (1195242-30). Other versions have problem with exposure. Im also getting ok results using Open camera.

Thank you piccolo, I confirm that one of two L3 devices in my family still has the problem with the stock app (as described in my earlier reply). Doubtful as there's ever going to be any help from Sony, seems a limited problem or there would be more of us reporting this fault.
