vertical lines on screen

I've had the phone for two weeks now but it suddenly started having vertical lines on the screen, it's been on and off but now seems to be permanent. Please assist

Could you post a screenshot?

screenshot = press and hold power & volume down for 1-2 seconds. 

Either post the screenshot here or upload it to box or dropbox

Are those vertical lines visible while outdoors (direct sunlight) ?

Booted in safe mode but they don't seem to be going away.

Welcome to the community,

This may be a Developer options function, although I do not think it would action in Safemode, I still suggest checking.

Menu > settings > Developer Options > Turn everything off.

If that does not help, then you may be looking at a hardware or software issue.

My Sony Xperia M4 Aqua dual has the same problem since this morning. No idea what happened, but I get vertical lines. The phone was bought in India in February and am currently in Italy. I do have a global warranty. Can anyone guide me where I can get this sorted please? Thanks
