will xperia play get ics or not?

Hi,

i contacted the chat support and mailed sony about the ics update.

what they said in chat support 1 time: no update to ics sorry.

2e time: yes the play will get the update (both sony nl)

mail: Yes, the update will be avaible in june (also sony nl)

so will it get ics or not??

In regards to Xperia PLAY, after extensive in house testing with our developer teams and working with our partners, we have concluded that a consistent and stable experience, particularly with gaming, cannot be guaranteed for this smartphone on Ice Cream Sandwich – therefore, we will not make the Android 4.0 upgrade available for Xperia PLAY.

This decision was also verified when we received similar feedback from the developer community; both experienced developers and advanced users, along with game content providers following our ICS beta ROM for unlocked Xperia PLAY smartphones.

Our priority has and always will be, to provide the best possible user experience on Xperia smartphones. In this instance the ICS upgrade would have compromised stability, where we look to ensure a quality gaming experience with games optimized and developed for Xperia PLAY.

hi,

first: i see a lot of people want the ics update and wants that sony will let us choise if we want to update. you will make a lot of people happy with it:)

2: we have a working ics port from the arc with all games working and almost in all games touchpad support (yes, it is ported by me)

and also your mail support says that the update will come (got mail back 1 day ago)

i didn't contact sony via the site but got the mail adres via facebook and i used an other mail adress then the one i used for this account (i only use this mail adress for development and for the play store:P)

and the person who reply does he works for Sony? if he does then you can post his name. if he doesn't its nothing but speculation or a misleading fb user

he works for sony nl, but i asked him and he won't me to post his name (i know this ins't the correct way to contact sony....)

I would take his answer with a pinch of salt bc it seems that Sony won't release this, we'll have to wait and see, I did see another rumor that Sony will release further GB updates

i will sell my xperia play then i think.......
