bravia 40EX403 no 1080p resolution only 1080I

HI ALL JUST PURCHASED THE BRAVIA 40EX403U, IT SAID IT WAS A 1080P TV

BUT WHEN WATCHING A HD PROGRAM IF YOU PRESS THE INFORMATION BUTTON IT SAYS IT IS 1080I

ANYONE KNOW WHY AND CAN YOU CHANGE IT

Not sure any channels broadcast in 1080p - BBC HD doesn't.

The TV support 1080p if its being fed a 1080p signal, e.g. from a Blu-ray Disc

Thanks for the information, one thing thats strange though is i have a digital stream hd freeview recorder and if i switch that on it then says 1080P, not sure why it says it with that but not with just the tv on
