I have just bought a KDL32-EX713 TV,Has anyone got a working setup with a DLNA media server working on a Linux setup for video, pictures and MP3 (mainly video)? I have a CENTOS5 Linux server as my main fileserver, I tried Media Tomb and it can see it in the diagnostics but it says it is not supported (I have not tweaked the config file much to see if I can get it to work). My research so far has revealed many stories of lack of true DLNA support on most software. Also I have not got any films stored digitally yet, has anyone got any recommendations as to what to use and what format to use, should they be stored in say MPEG4 format and then get the software to transcode to MPEG2 format to stream to the tv? I am happy to hand code config files etc if needs be to get transcoding etc to work I just need some advice from someone who has actually been there to get me started.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
There is a Linux build of Serviio - http://www.serviio.org/ which seems to be the best DLNA server out there - will transcode on the fly etc..
Thanks
Thanks for the info, I will give it a try, but the question remains has anyone got a solution working and not just this SHOULD work!
Thanks
