PC to TV with HDMI problems

Got a PC with an ATI graphics card connected to the TV via a HDMI cable. The PC recognises the Sony TV attached in my devices. The TV recognises a cable plugged in. But that's as far as it goes. I just get a blank screen.

Been through the monitor outputs, but can't seem to get anything to work.Unfortunately haven't got anymore HDMI devices to check if the cable works or input/output works.

Any clues where to go from here?

Have you tried pressing Fn + F7 and toggling the output to the HDMI Output?

Kinda tried it yesterday the hard way by going through the extra software the graphics card manufacturer supplied, and now tried that directly. still no beans.

The graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3400. (PC is an acer aspire M1641) I have the 2 monitors set so they are duplicated (same output on both screens... I guess that isn't the right resolution for HD, but i'll live with that for now to get it to output anything!). I don't know if its a question that it can't output to both VGA and HDMI, or the graphics card is just duff. Cable is brand spanking new. just read the box that says it's a 1.3b if that makes a difference?

After all that, and ripping the pc out of its cupboard to get it in the living room to try the sky cable, it turns out the cable is rubbish. time for an arguement! 🙂
