Playing iplayer files on Bravia via USB slot

I have had no problems palying iplayer on my tv via a link to my network. I would like to play iplayer files that i have downloaded to my computer via the USB slot on my Bravia TV.  I copied the files to a USB stick and although the tv saw the files it would not play it. I would be grateful to anyone that can tell me what I need to do to make this happen. Thanks

I would have thougt that downloaded iPlayer files would be encrypted (Digital Rights Management) to play only on that device.

Thanks for that thought, I imagine you are right. So the trick is now to link the PC to the TV to view it pherhaps??? Any thoughts?
