I have the same problem on my TV and having written to Sony they have agreed to pay part of the repair costs if I take the TV to one of their repair centres. This might sound like a good result but having looked at several forums this fault is clearly a manufacturing fault and should therefore be replaced as faulty. The only way to resolve this issue is to make a direct written complaint as they will not accept verbal complaints.
