Sony TV 49” screen issue

First post to the Sony board. 👍🏻 Hi...

Just wondering if anybody has had a similar issue with their new Sony TV’s?

Purchased a Sony KD49XF7073 LED HDR 4K Ultra HD 49” TV about 6 weeks ago from John Lewis (online).

Delivered at the beginning of December 2018 and on New Year’s day I noticed a 4” (ish) wide ‘misty white’ band to the right side of the screen when the screen displays shadows or dark coloured scenes. This happens on TV programmes and on things like iPlayer start-up.

Contacted JL who have told me I need to deal with Sony to investigate, which I’m trying to sort out, but in the meantime wondered if anybody has had similar screen issues?

The ‘band’ doesn’t occur everyday and seems to take a few minutes to appear after the TV is switched on when it does happen. Couple of pictures below.

Hi @WillVail18.

I recommend that you get JL to replace the TV immediately. It appears to be faulty assuming you have tried the usual things like resetting it to factory default etc. It is clearly something for the Retailer to sort out and they shouldn’t fob you off to Sony.
