Trying to connect console : scene selection has been changer

Hello, just bought my partner the new megadrive for Xmas, tried having a shot! Connected with hdmi etc, turns on, menu pops up and choose a game, as soon as you hit start the screen goes black and it says “scene selection has been changed” have tried changing from auto to various others, tried using different hdmi ports, same issue every time. Help please! Sarah

Is this a 4K device? Does the issue happen when you use any other HDMI device?

As far as I know it's not a 4k device its the new mini Sega Megadrive?

We use a Google Chromecast everyday using an HDMI and it works fine.
