Why no notification of firmware update?

What's the advantage in registering your product (KDL-37EX-503) if the only way of knowing about a firmware update is to browse "my product support site"? Latest version released 18-04-2011 but no-one told us (or at least not me)

Hopefully admin read things like this?

Fair point. On Blu-rays it does notify you, on 2010 BRAVIA its meant to download updates silently in the background. On the 2011 models I think you can for force the Tv to update manually which is useful.

Will feedback your comments though as its a pretty reasonable suggestion.
