I hve a VGC-V2s which is operating Windows XP . The keyboard and mouse are wireless . I have the PC hardwired to a 'livebox' for bband and WiFi around the house . I have bought a WiFi printer which my laptop which runs 'vista' found straight away , but my 'vaio' doesnt seem to have the option to find a wireless printer , is this because the PC isnt WiFi?? In the pdf d/l guide it said that it used WLAN 802.11 - to quote "thanks to wireless Lan (I/EEE 802.11b/g) technology , you can communivate freely without wires" ..... so what am i missing ??
Hi safetan2002.
Yes your Vaio has a wireless card. Unfortunately XP does not connect automatically and you will have to set up an 'ad hoc' network.
Go to Network Connections from Control Panel or from your Start Menu. Right-click on your wireless card and make sure it is enabled. You will need to set up a new wireless ad hoc connection.
What printer do you have - most give instructions in the manuals on how to set up an 'ad hoc' network between your Vaio and the printer?
Ive got the Samsung SCX-4500W , which works fine with Vista . I cant find where it says 'network card' ? What is my wireless card called ...any idea?
