Unable to Boot from DVD

Hi all

At my wits end

Bought so called compatible memory and Vaio ( VGN TZ11MN) crashed a few times then gave up ghost. Now when I boot I get blue screen of death on boot up with message Page Fault inNon paged area.
I cannot get to safe mode. No worries i have spare OEM vista home premium disk ill just do a clean install. Only problem is that i dont seem to be able to get the Vaio to boot from the DVD

Any ideas?

Hi MaxPB and welcome.

Try removing the suspect memory then:

1. Plug into the mains adapter
2. Restore the BIOS to default settings by tapping F2 during boot
3. You will get the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility window.
4. Press F9 to get default values and then press ENTER to confirm.
5. Press F10 to save changes and exit and then press ENTER to confirm.
6. You have restored the default values and your VAIO will now restart.
7. Start the Hard Disc Recovery by tapping F10 during boot
8. Follow the on-screen instructions to recover your system

The system recovery may take some time - do not interrupt it even if it appears to have stopped.

Good Luck!
