WEBCAM VGP-VCC2 VGN-AR21S - WINDOWS 7

I NEED HELP WITH THE WEBCAM VGP-VCC2 FOR THE VGN-AR21S BECAUSE IT´S NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7 AND SOMETIMES CRASH MY COMPUTER OTHER FUNCTIONS ARE OK AFTER 5 DAYS ON THE NET TO READ ALL THE FORUNS. IF SOMEONE WANTS HELP FOR THIS COMPUTER NO PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THE WEBCAM.

I assume you have installed 32-bit Windows 7? I do not think there is a 64-bit camera driver for your model.

What driver do you have installed for the webcam?

What does the camera show as in Device Manager? Does it show under 'Imaging Devices' as 'Vaio Visual Communications Camera VCC2'?

The only driver available is the VGP-VCC2 driver originally supplied with your AR21S for use with XP. This can be dowenloaded with the Original Driver Package for the AR21S from Vaio Support.

What camera utilities have you installed? Vaio Camera Utility? Vaio Camera Capture Utility?

First, thanks for your aswer. I send now a message to you, the w7 is the 32 bits and I installed the vista updates for this computer work with the keys: volume; eject; mute and av launcher for the s1/s2(control center) I installed the original utilities for the vgn-ar41s. Also with the original utilities for the vgn-ar41s I installed vaio camera capture utility. On the device manager appears Sony Visual Communication VGP-VCC2 and the version, I tried to update and the windows says I have the correct version, but on the upgrade advisor it´s not compatible with w7 in the 32bits in 64bits no problem. That problem sometimes crash the computer to a blue screen Driver_Power_State_Failure (0*0000009F/first error), the help center says alwways the problem is the webcam. Can I installed other camera or use the drive of another camera like I read in other forum?.

hi i have an Ar-21S also and have 2 problems one is BSOD driver power state failure and the other is when i close the lid the screen turns off and does not come back on when i open it even when i say do nothing when close the lid!
