I get frequently the notice 'back up was not possible' (the origignal message is 'Sichern war nicht möglich')
The App prints a protocol with several backup options of which all failed.
I would like to know which app this is, and how to get the backup back.
Especially I am interested in the image and video backup, just in case my phone is stolen.
where do you get that message? as for backing up photos and videos, you don't need an app

How do I know the images are backed up?
I have german language enabled, no idea how the app is called. It is installed by default.
It prints the name "Sichern & Wiederherstellen" in the tab list. Means "save and restore".
Using that app will take forever and will only back everything on a SD card, which means that if you lose your phone, you will lose everything, use the other alternatives and transfer them to your computer.
Ok, that means the problem is related to the SD card.
I dont mind if something is backed up to the SD card. It does not solve all problems, but those related to a crahs of the internal card or any chipset on the mobile.
Any ideas how to test the SD card and debug the problem? I also had problems to save images to the SD card, but from the computer the SD card works fine.

"save and restore" (Sichern und Zurücksetzen) does not backup images and videos anyway ...
If you prefer to have your photos and videos on SD card you can choose "external memory" as the default storage place in the camera app.
You can access the "save and restore" app through settings --> save and restore (in German: Einstellungen --> Sichern und Zurücksetzen), where you are also able to configure the backups, in particular what to backup (images and or vidoes is not an option here however).
I had some bad experiences with "Apps" selected, leading to save&restore being stuck and eventually showing the error message you had. Unslecting "Apps" resolves this issue.
You can also select the backup being stored on Google Servers instead of the SD card - the only useful option if your phone is stolen.
In the same menu (settings --> save and restore) there is also the possibility to restore previously backed up data, but I never tried this (never had to, luckily ...).
