backup and restore

i changed from sony z to z2 a couple of days ago. it's a big problem that i cannot use my back-up and restore from z on the new z2. you have to fix that. 😄

unfortunately it will not unless your z was on kitkat it will not as z2 is on kitkat. best option is to back you via google account or use xperia tansfer app to move contents on your z to your z2 .

They are not compatible,backups differ by each firmware update and phone.However,you can rename the .dbk to .zip and try to extract some of the files.

Unfortunately the backup can become potentially useless with firmware change no offer for a selected restore as some items would likely work.

I used backup and sent my phone for repair, I week later it came with this month's new firmware. unfortunately it said my previous backup is now invalid unless I can get anther z2 on the old firmware. So much fun.
