Hi,
Has anyone had the same problems with their X10's as me? When trying to make a call (to landlines or mobiles) my phone often cuts out with a 'beep'. Sometimes its after no rings, sometimes after 4+ rings and even sometimes after the call has connected. Each time, after i call the person back, it connects without a problem.
I've taken the phone back to the shop where purchased for a repair and tried factory resets and software updates but with no success. Any ideas anyone? I'd love to get this fixed because this fundamental flaw (possibly just with my handset) is ruining my X10 experience.
Cheers
Bit of a random thought... is your proximity sensor turning the screen off during the call (I know this has been an issue on some phones) cos if its not maybe your face is touching the end call handset on the screen? Make some calls in front of a mirror to see if its actually turning off. OK i will now come out of the left field area of strange ideas... hope you get sorted.
What SUZE said may be the reason. To make sure that the problem is with the proximity sensor, try calling using a head set so that the phones touch screen does not interact with your body. See whether the problem occurs when using the head set too. If you encounter the problem with headset too then it’s the network that is causing the problem. If it is so get a new sim card from a different network.
Thanks for your help guys, i will try using a headset/speaker when making calls and see if i get the same problem. I'll keep you posted...
this is happening to me too, i found holding the phone away from my cheek helps so its just my ear that touches the top half of the phone
