Can I connect an external camera?

Good evening people,

I'd like to connect an HDMI camera to the phone and record video. Is this possible? I saw this: http://goo.gl/7BUZCD Apologies if links aren't allowed! But this seems to be to connect the phone to a TV.

Any thoughts would be very welcome

With that MHL adapter you can indeed connect your phone to a TV, but I thought it was out-put from your phone to the monitor/TV not the other way around, I'm not sure that it will work with a camera, but you could take one for the team and test it. 

I think it'll be better to go with at QX100 or ILCE-QX1

Hi @RachelB,

Your phone supports MHL output, meaning you can (for example) mirror your display on a TV. There is no setting to use the phone as a second display using MHL.

If you wish to connect a separate camera to your phone then the Lens-Style Cameras suggested by @uliwooly are worth checking out.
