Connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 2 to 3 hours > then try to turn it back on

After two or so years of daily usage the battery won't hold as much charge as before

Could be that your battery does need to be changed as parts of your battery may not be able to hold a charge so it get to a certain level then below that it is as said unable to hold a charge

Hi Mlos55,

Discussion Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines

This could also be related to the device freezing, if the handset Black screened and was unresponsive, this generally indicates that the device has frozen and is currently using the CPU at a higher rate then normal which leads to the battery discharging at a faster rate.

As the handset was quite low in battery it would not have taken long for this to be exhausted.

In saying this, it could very well be one of the ideas supplied on this thread.

I hope this helps.

accidentally drop my phone on floor on the left side(where MicroUSB goes). When I take it I saw that left and right part of screen are black and middle is lighting. Then black parts are start to expand and whole screen was black.I can't do anything.I can start phone,I feel the vibration on start but screen is always black. Now I don't know is screen really dead because there is no any physical damage. Can be that some connectors are disconnected?

Sorry to hear this but you would need to either return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care and have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
