Hi,
I'm from Latin America. I bought my Xperia S for internet in 2012. My charger is the European one and came with an adapter for American electricity. This adapter doesn't work anymore since one of the connectors (the flat silver thing) it's loosened. And the charger began to turn on and off the light that indicates that my phone is charging. Then I ended up buying a new adapter, but doesn't work. I bought another one just in case the first was broken or something, but doesn't work neither. I don't know if I'm missing something here, the AV it's the same (250 V 6A), the connector look REALLY like the original that came with my phone. I don't know what else to do, here in Venezuela it's hard to find a charger for my phone. I can't find it on the web, I can't buy it in dollars. I love Sony, the phones (specially the Xperia Series) , the Tv, the headphones. I love it because I know that they are quality products.
I would be deeply grateful if you can help me with this. I'll appreciate anything that you could suggest.
I'm truly sorry for my bad English or redaction.
If you have a USB cable then you can charge it via your Pc - However any 5v charger with the right connection ie:Micro USB will work
Or course, thanks, but it's not the same. Doesn't charge as fast as the original charger. And I can't take my computer with me when I go out.
I appreciate your suggestion anyway.
As above any 5v Charger with the right connection will work - Most mobile phone and tablet chargers work via the same connection and voltage - Voltage because a Pc USB power output is 5v and the connection is a cross manufacturer agreement to have a universal fitting - Cheap Chinese knock offs and Apple have there own rules
So I can't buy any adapters regardless if it's generic or not? Even if they have the same voltage will not work?
From what you have said you have tried different adaptors with no luck leaving the charger itself to be the issue (or try your charger with adaptor on another device to rule out charger issue) so as a last option try a different charger as long as it's 5v and has the right USB connection - If it's from another country then you have an adaptor which you know works
That's right, but it's not the charger because the original adapter works, but charging starts and stops, I have to move the charger for it charge the phone, but this technique doesn't help me anymore, then I realized that the adapter has a "loose leg" like I said before.
I know it may be confusing, i'm so sorry for my redaction.
