Cracked back cover + touchscreen issues

Hi,
My z3 unfortunately dropped some days ago and the back cover cracked near one corner. Plus it's slightly open. I know I can ask for a replacement, so this is not the main problem. As the back cracked, the touchscreen started to be quite unresponsive, it often shows non-physical touches, like electromagnetic interferences. Could be these two effects related? I mean, substituting the back cover could fix the touchscreen issues?

hard to tell, get it inspected by your Local support, if you dropped the phone, perhaps there are small cracks on the digitizer.

Thanks for the suggestion. Before contacting the support I tried to replace the back cover on my own, which is quite an easy process (guides can be found on the Web). Surprisingly the problem seems to be gone!
