E3 Bootloader Unlock

Hey there, i have a vodafone uk sim locked xperia e3, current boot loader status is unlock allowed: No

If i purchase an unlock code from vodafone, will the status change to yes as it will then technically be a sim free handset as the network has authorised its unlock?

If not how do i go about getting this device unlock?

Thanks In Advance

You can unlock the phone to use on other networks but that won't change the bootloader, networks, in this case vodafone, requested the bootloader to be permanent locked, so that can not be changed.

First of all thanks for the quick responce its appreciated.

Hmm that seems a bit harsh, i bought the phone out right, its not connected to any contracts. And i have paid vodafone to sim unlock the device, so would this technically not be the same as purchasing a sim free version which has the bootloader option enabled. After all i own the device i should be able to do what i please with it. Just wish i had known this before 😕

I understand and totally agree with you, but there's no way around this issue, you will have to contact vodafone and get them to help you out.

Ok but will vodafone actually be able to help in this situtation do they have the required tool's to process a bootloader unlock, i though this would lie with sony.

I've seen a similar issue with a Spanish carrier, they agreed to allowed the bootloader to be unlocked, they communicated and had a new agreement with Sony and users were allowed to take their devices to their local Xperia Care.
