That's most likely a hardware issue, you could repair the phone with XC  but you might want to contact your Local support

As Uliwooly rightly stated it's 90% hardware. The only reason why the camera app is not showing the selfie cam button is because the device it's not recognizing it. A drop cannot damage software so I am inclined to think it's for sure not a software issue but an hardware one.

However, doing a software repair may help you to avoid headaches and be sure that is an hardware issue rather than software BUT you may 1st try something different.

Open the dialer on your phone and type *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu, go then to Service Tests and try the front camera from there. If it won't work then you are sure it's not a software issue because the service app don't use system apps but native code embedded that is able to control and diagnose hardware.

Hi @1812,

I'm sorry to hear that.

If this happened directly after you dropped the device it is most likely hardware related. As previously suggested in this thread, try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion to rule out this being related to software. If that doesn't help I recommend contacting your Local support to have your device sent to and examined by an authorized service center.

I did what you said before. I only could turn on the front flash but as you said, it showed me that frontal camera is not recognized.

I suspect that the camera chip detached from its socket in the motherboard after the fall or, in case the cmos is soldered, that the chip got damaged or its not soldered solidly enough to work/being recognized. I am afraid you'll have to pay a visit or a call to the local support to have it inspected and repaired. Slightly_frowning_Face
