Generic Apps Not Responding

Hi,

Anybody else having an issue since the recent 6.0.1 update with generic apps such as Album and Music not working?  When I attempt to open them they say "Unfortunately, XXX has stopped working", some give me the option to report, others do not.  This is very very frustrating as I can't really use my phone for much bar basic operations.  I've tried clearing cache etc but am worried about removing and re-installing as I'll lose data.

Help!!

that's rather odd.

settings > apps > look for the apps > memory > clear data > restart the phone > check again.

It sure is, no cigar with the fix you suggested. I have no idea what's going on. Short of a factory reset I have few options left.

test the phone in >>> safe mode

It's the same in safe mode. I'm going to get rid of a whole host of apps to see if that works.

No change despite a whole host of apps uninstalled. It seems to be stemming from my Google play app, which has had its data reset etc too.

What the fudge is going on lol!?
