headphone jack issues

Hi,

The headphone jack is not working on my Z1 compact. Yesterday it was fine, however when I plugged in my headphones this morning there was no sound coming through the left ear piece, only the right one. The headphones worked fine with other devices, so it seems to be an issue with the phone and not the headphones. I have restarted the phone and now the headphones don't work at all. Sounds come through the phone speakers, but not the headphones.

Has anybody experienced something similar? Are there any suggestions for solving this?

I would advise first checking if the headphone jack is in need of a clean as dust etc is common cause of this issue.

Is there a preferred method for clearing dust out of the headphone jack? When I bought this phone I was under the impression that it was both dust proof and water proof.

Hi Sam,

I just cleaned out the jack using a cotton swab and managed to get it working again. Many thanks for your helpful advice.

No problem, please bear in mind that the dust etc can't get into the internals of the phone but can certainly clog the headphone jack.
