How does this automatic switching On work

Hi,

The first time I bought my Xperia T2 ultra dual phone, I noticed that flipping the phone case open would automatically switch On the dislay, while closing the cover would switch it OFF.

I am curious to know how this works ??

Also I have noticed lately that this feature does not work always. The phone has to manually switched ON using the button on the side,

Is there any setting to be done to make ot more reliable ??

Note: I noticed the un-reliable operation after I installed a screen and body protector for the phone, will this affect the operation ??

Dear Sony Team,

T2 Ultra have good support with Sony Style cover SCR 14 specially for Auto Wake & Sleep facility but in handset not have any control option (ON/OFF) for the same. Please add this option just like an I Pad on your next update. Thank you.

I checked smartconnect, I dont think it has anything to do with smartconnect.

The display would come ON every time the cover was flipped open, but this has become erratic now for some reason.....
