Hi Maxe,

I dont believe you can remove the app entirely, however you may be able to disable the app.

Menu > Settings > Apps > Chrome > Disable

Let me know if this helps.

I have looked and there is no Chrome in Apps, only google., right down the bottom of the google app is a google chrome sign with com.android.chrome.PRETENDER-URL but i cant do anything with it

The problem is that the latest Google Chrome update wont let me use icons on the homepage and is hijacking my icons to google instead, i dont see why i need to go through google to use my icons which have a URL, not only that after opening one icon thats all it will allow and wont allow multiple pages open and it also looks horrible with a black page, basically google chrome is not working with the latest sony update on my phone.

OK, i see you need to swipe sideways in apps to see the other apps, so i found it and turned it off then search wouldnt work altogether, thanks a lot google for not allowing me to make a choice of what browser and search i want!

Im interseted with what others are using for search/browsers and how you ahve it set up.

You don't have to use Google Chrome, why don't you try a browser like Dolphin Browser HD?

I would like to try Dolphin but guess what play store wont let me download it, error message after error message, looks like google have this whole thing sewn up these days and if not prevent any competitor from working.

Google you **bleep**

What type of error message are you getting? can you try enabling the Google Chrome application and then try?

If this does work, you could download Dolphin browser, and simply make this the default browser within the apps section.

Let me know how you get on.

Google did not consciously lock you out.

Stop your hate campaign against Chrome.

Do you see this error with more apps, or just with Chrome?

According to a post I found, it's more of a general thing, not Google locking you in to Chrome.

I just installed Dolphin without any problems on my Z1 Compact.
