Lollipop Notification, unable to remove from Notification screen or bar.

Received a notification about the Lollipop update and it shows in the update centre, however as I don't want to update I am finding it difficult to remove the status notification, even if I click on the notification and then hit the back button the notification stays where it is.

Also on the manage updates from within the update centre I do not see the Lollipop update which would enable me to hide it.

In other words is the only way to remove the notification to install Lollipop which I don't really want to do?

Any ideas please?

Should have tried this before I posted the question but I fixed it.

I just switched off the phone then when I restarted the noification was gone, hope this helps others that were in the same situation.

Am I the only one that is happy with KitKat 4.4.4 and doesn't really want to update to Lollipop till bugs are fixed? just curious.

If I need to I will, but there seems to be many bugs around and I will wait for fixes before I install it.

Nope, it came back again, so I am forced to have it sitting in the top of the notification screen unless I install it.

Any other ways to remove it?

You cannot remove a notification about a large system update. If you disable update centre, there might be a chance. But without lollipop, you won't get further updates for apps in what's new,as update centre is removed.

Also, please use the edit button and try to avoid spamming.

You can try by doing this: go to settings> apps> all apps (swipe right to left)>update centre, clear data and cache and disable if available. I guess it won't bother you anymore.

Also,take a look at this:

This is for hiding app updates.

Thanks, I've just taken a look at the help section within the update centre and it says "You Cannot Hide System Updates.

As I have already told you, even if you clear data, after a restart it will be back.
