No message notification sound?

I have no message notification sound anymore, and I'm not sure if I lost it when I updated the software or if it was when I allowed hangouts to handle sms messages. Anyway I disabled sms messages in hangouts again and I still dont get a sound when i receive sms messages?

Notifications works for other things like WordFeud, Alarm and phonecalls...

Any suggestions to how to reenable message notifications?

Check Settings - Sounds - Volume and make sure that the notification sound volume isn't on mute there are different volume for Ringtone - Media and Notifications

Also try settings-apps-all-smart connect,clear data and restart.
