No Mobile coverage after disabling "data"

hello frns

i use Xperia SP from last 3 months or so..

i recently switched to new service provider, the problem i am facing is that whenever i enable "data connection" it works fine , but when i swich off data connection, my mobile doesnt receive any calls or not able to dial any ( it says out of coverage) though it shows 3-4 bars of network in status bar neither i can swich on "data conection" . and i need to restart the phone to get back in network it works fine till i swich off data , and again same ...

its frustrating to use data... when i call Customer care of service provider they say its something wrong with handset / some setting in mobile ..

but my prevous service provider card used to work fine...

what do you think guys ?? is it handset ( sim card slot problem ?) or SIM card itself is faulty ?

does anyone has faced such wierd issue before ??

i am going to try this sim in another handset just not able to find handset which supports micro sim !!

What network settings do you have?3G only?

I tried with all 3 settings :

GSM only

WCDMA only

GSM/WCDMA preferd.

result same for all 3 settings !

Reboot, after that on and off airplane mode, after that, do a call and here is your network

after rebooting i get network no need to swich to aeroplane mode and all  that ... but again after enabling  and then disabling data again network goes... and need to reboot again ....

its like need to reboot phone after everytime you use net (after disabling mobile data) ....

from last 4 hrs i have kept data on .. and phone is in network ...  lets see how long it goes w/o disabling data ..
