non hd video quality

My device is playing videos on YouTube,  Google,  Facebook,  etc in 720p and not 1080.  The quality is far inferior in this regard to my four year old HTC inspire. How can I change this to meet the requirements of the phone,  with or without replacement.

That's HD limit its not set by the phone, it will be up to youtube or facebook
