Phone keeps restarting

just got the brand new base modle xperia (cant remember what it is called) and im already having issues less then a week since i bought the phone, when i power it up it will say us has failled, and then die, will start back up and run fine for about a minuite and same thing will happen again

it started up fine, shut off safe mode, came back up asking to update my phone and is now updating the system... hopefully thats it??!! haha

I think so. It does sound like a software error based on the information you have provided. I do hope the update resolves it, but if it does not, then the software repair likely will. If you are unable to do it on your computer you may have to see if there is a friend or family member who has a computer with a later operating system you could run this on.
