Quick launch bug?

I found this behavior today.

Condition:

  • Screen lock > on
  • Camera > Settings > Quick launch > Launch only

Procedure:

  • Push power button and open locked home view.
  • Open camera from icon at lower right coner.
  • Settings(gear icon at lower left coner) > More > **** Crash? Return to Home screen.

I have to use camera after unlock home screen so "Quick launch" is not quick Slightly_smiling_Face

It seems permission issue.

Hi @daipresents, welcome to our forum! Slightly_smiling_Face

I just tested this on a Xperia X Compact with the latest software installed.

When I set a screen lock and I turn the screen off and then I press the power key to get to the lock screen and I hold with the finger on the camera shortcut in the bottom right corner and drag it on the screen it opens up the camera application.

If I then press on the gear icon (Settings) in the bottom left corner and press "More" I get a message that says "To open the options menu, unlock the screen". Just below that there is a small box that is marked and next to it the text "Do not show again" is displayed.

If I press on "OK" and I repeat everything from the start again. When I press the gear icon > "More" I end up on the lock screen since the small box next to "Do not show again" is marked as default. To be able to view this message again you need to clear data for Camera application, doing so will not remove any photos or videos. Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage > Clear data. You can then uncheck this box and you will always receive the message.

The quick launch function is linked to camera button that is located just below volume up and volume down on the side of your phone. If you press and hold it for 1-2 seconds it will launch the camera application when quick launch in the camera application is set to "Launch only".

Is that what happens in your phone or do you get any error message(s)?

Let me know how it went! Slightly_smiling_Face

Thank you @Jonas.

I tried your solution and got same phenomenon. I forgot that message.

But in my case, Xperia's camera is very good so I often change the setting of camera for taking good photo. I hope this behavior will change more useful.

Thank you very much.
